what is NACS?

NACS Members work strictly to the NACS Code of Practice © 1982 and Code of Conduct for the cleaning of chimneys. On completion of work, NACS Sweeps issue a Certificate of Chimney Sweeping and recommend when future cleaning is necessary. NACS Sweeps stock a comprehensive range of different brushes and tools to tackle the vast variety of chimneys, flues and appliances they meet.

On completion of all chimney sweeping a smoke evacuation or smoke draw test is carried out and a NACS certificate of sweeping is issued. The chimney cleaning process is carried out using rods, flue brushes and vacuum and care is taken that the chimney sweep passes the chimney flue brush through the full length of the chimney and through the chimney pot in line with the NACS code of practise.

Our expert chimney sweep can provide addition chimney advice and where necessary carry out further chimney inspection.. We can supply you with the various tradesmen contact numbers should your homes chimney be in need of repair or require the installation of chimney pots/ chimney cowls/ chimney caps and chimney bird guards.

Where a chimney has not been used in recent years and is it your intention to use the chimney for a multi fuel stove or open hearth fire it is most important to have the chimney inspected prior to use. The flue way should been cleaned and tested and our chimney sweep who will be able to advise whether the correct terminal is fitted to the top of the brick chimney stack or if there is any concern that the chimney flue is leaking.
